wabi, loosely translated from Japanese, means seeing the beauty in everyday things.....finding the beauty in imperfection. Marilyn Miller, principal designer, integrates the concept of "imperfect beauty" into her work because it allows for great flexibility in interpreting design and decor. This flexibility inspires creative and individualized design suited specially to the tastes and desires of each client.
Philosophically, wabi interior design believes in the essential vitality and nurturance that can be achieved in all living or workspaces. Whether it is a home or office, a space needs to be suited to the well-being, comfort and efficiency of its inhabitants. We see the relationship of place and person as reciprocal. It is our intent to enhance the place/person dynamic. We do so by listening to needs, offering options and implementing individualized and nurturing environments.
