thumbnail of 3D animation While all of these animations represent the player's point of view while moving through the 3D environment, the game involves much more. Players travel to the fantasy city "Lost Angels" and attempt to collect "Fun Points" by visiting as many city attractions as posible on a limited budget. The format is QuickTime and the file size is 2.8 MB. Set to stream.
Running time: 16 seconds.
thumbnail of 3D animation In this clip, the player runs into John Parker, an ex-Vietnam vet with a bad case of post traumatic stress disorder and only one of many dangerous characters lurking throughout the city. If the player uses incorrect English or unacceptable social skills, the game could end suddenly in tragedy. For each "Fun Point" attraction the player wishes to visit, preparation, requiring movement through the city is required. The format is QuickTime and the file size is 3.5 MB. Set to stream.
Running time: 21 seconds.
thumbnail of 3D animation While moving through the city, preparing for these attractions, players must also maintain "Energy Points" by eating in restaurants. Each encounter with the city's residents is an opportunity to learn English skills but could possibly be dangerous. While many of the residents are normal, helpful people such as store clerks and waitresses, others are dangerous and/or deranged criminals who could rob, or even kill the player. The format is QuickTime and the file size is 1.9 MB. Set to stream.
Running time: 11 seconds.
thumbnail of 3D animation The area represented in the sample is only about two city blocks but the finished game will include a much larger area with three different levels of English. The highest level is set in a bad area of town where players will encounter more danger but are able to save more money for "Fun Point" attractions. The format is QuickTime and the file size is 3.6 MB. Set to stream.
Running time: 21 seconds.
thumbnail of 3D animation All of the animations in this project were done using Strata Studio Pro on a Macintosh computer. The sample was completed in 1995. The animators working with Blue Star Media Group in 2005 are using either Maya 6.0 or Studio Max programs and the work is much more sophisticated than what you see here. Please view the portfolios on the "People" page to see examples. The format is QuickTime and the file size is 3.6 MB. Set to stream.
